How to format ERB files

till now 2026, I didn’t knew good tooling for the view layer in rails, but I’ve saw a presentation on youbutte Marco Roth - Introducing ReActionView: An ActionView-Compatible ERB Engine were herb was introduce. it does include:

• parser
• linter
• formatter and other tools that might enhance the experience.

Til today 2026 may 01 I’m just installed the gem and I do hope it will enhance the raiils view layer development experience see the herb repositoriy on github

As per Youtube video some enhancement we might notice:

• CSS outline (so you can debug each file or partial)
• Better template errores description
• Abilitiy to jump right into the buggy view file.
• Better view inpection on browswer

As for me, a guy who has built his portfolio and blog in Astro, this have me exited as thease features are very similar to Astro, wich in my opinigon has great view debuggin.
